All About
Lanthorn Cottage

Lanthorn Cottage was once a barn and in later years a farm worker’s cottage. To the best of our knowledge, it’s around 200 years old and has been in our family since the 1980s. Since then, we’ve been renovating, repairing and updating it, while trying as much as possible to retain the authentic charm of a country cottage.

We have also been welcoming countless guests, and sometimes their furry friends, over the years to experience the special charm of this incredible part of the country: its shores, waterways and landscape.

We hope you'll be one of them!

Ready to Experience Norfolk's Charm?

While the cottage and its mature garden are a great reason to come and stay, we also think Lanthorn Cottage’s rural tranquil location, yet within a mile or so of the Norfolk coastline, makes it a unique place.

Venturing a little further afield the nearby small towns of Stalham and North Walsham are easily accessible for the shops and supermarkets, with the delights of Wroxham, Cromer and Great Yarmouth within a relatively short drive.

Even cosmopolitan Norwich itself is not much more than 30-40 minutes’ drive.

Family Owners Since the 1980s

Lanthorn Cottage is owned by our small, family-run property company, which owns a few properties around the UK. Currently, Lanthorn Cottage is our only holiday rental and has been loved and cared for by generations of our family: who also regularly come to stay here too!

As a result, we have come to know and treasure the area as much as many of our guests - and we hope you enjoy your stay half as much as we have over the years! Explore the website to learn a about the cottage.
